Q: What is the MOMENTUM Clinical Trial?

A: MOMENTUM stands for Multicenter Trial of the Orqis Medical Cancion CRS™ Cardiac Recovery System for the Enhanced Treatment of Heart Failure, Unresponsive to Medical Therapy. The MOMENTUM Clinical Trial is evaluating the use of an investigational device for the treatment of hospitalized decompensated heart failure patients.

Q: What is decompensated heart failure?

A: A sudden worsening of congestive heart failure, often requiring hospitalization.

Q: What is the Cancion® System?

A: The Cancion System is a unique heart failure treatment that is being investigated for its potential to use continuous aortic flow augmentation (CAFA) technology to improve symptoms of heart failure and change the underlying course of the disease for patients hospitalized for decompensated heart failure who respond inadequately to medical therapy. Q: Who can participate in the MOMENTUM Clinical Trial?

A: Patients who are already hospitalized for heart failure and are inadequately responding to standard medical therapy may be eligible for participation in the trial.

A: No. Because the Cancion System is under investigation, it can only be used as part of the MOMENTUM Clinical Trial.
